Code
MiMeMo contains two pieces of third-party code:
- Sentry for Apple platforms — github.com/getsentry/sentry-cocoa, MIT licence. It reports crashes.
- ClerkKit — github.com/clerk/clerk-ios, MIT licence. It holds your account if you choose to sign in. Only the non-UI half is included: MiMeMo draws its own screens.
Everything else in the app was written for it, on top of Apple's own frameworks — SwiftUI, Metal, Core Image, AVFoundation, Vision and PhotoKit. No layout engine, no image library, no networking package, no analytics.
That is unusual enough to be worth saying plainly, and both exceptions are deliberately narrow. Sentry is configured to send no screenshot, no identifier and no IP address, and it can be switched off in More → Support. Clerk is reached only if you sign in, which is optional, and the account can be deleted from inside the app. The privacy policy's Section 3 says exactly what each one receives.
Typefaces
MiMeMo ships 56 typefaces so that the text tools work offline and look the same on every device. Each is used under its own licence.
Artwork
The app ships with:
- 143 stickers, in ten packs
- 79 background textures
- 14 photo frames
- 10 grid layouts, which are drawn by the app rather than shipped as pictures
- A library of meme references, and preview images for the templates
Meme references are culturally shared imagery. They are included so that a meme can be recreated, which is what memes are for. Using MiMeMo explains what that does and does not give you, and how to ask for something to be taken down.
Claims
If you hold rights in something that appears in MiMeMo and believe it is used wrongly, write to support@mimemo.art with the subject "Copyright". Tell us what the work is and where it appears, and we will deal with it.
